TMA Adopts AGlaze Aviation Sealant Fleet-Wide After Successful Trial
Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a three-month trial of AGlaze Aviation Sealant on two of its Twin Otter aircraft. Following the trial’s outstanding results, TMA will be applying AGlaze Aviation Sealant to its entire fleet of 65 seaplanes as they emerge from maintenance and receive fresh paint.
Commenting on the trial, Mohamed Nasser Ismail, Chief Engineer at TMA, said, “We’ve been thoroughly impressed by the performance of AGlaze on our newly painted aircraft. The sealant has given the planes an impressive, long-lasting shine. Since our seaplanes are washed daily, the sealant also significantly reduces both the time and the amount of water required to rinse off salt, making our maintenance process more efficient.”
The trial highlighted multiple benefits of AGlaze’s Aviation Sealant, especially given the demanding operating conditions of TMA’s seaplanes in the Maldivian saltwater environment. The product’s application led to improved gloss and shine, while helping TMA save considerable time in daily washes and reduce water usage.
Mark German, Technical Director at Gryphon Aviation Partners (GAP), stated, “TMA’s decision to implement AGlaze across their fleet demonstrates the sealant’s durability and effectiveness in extreme environments. The improvements in gloss and water efficiency are evident, and it’s exciting to see these benefits fully realized across TMA’s operations.”
In addition to performance enhancements, the use of AGlaze Aviation Sealant aligns with TMA’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices. The reduction in water usage and maintenance time helps to conserve a precious resource in the Maldives while furthering TMA’s environmental and operational goals.
“We’re proud to support TMA in their continuous efforts towards operational excellence and sustainability,” said Mike Cappuccitti, Managing Director at Gryphon Aviation Partners. “The success of this trial demonstrates the game-changing potential of AGlaze for operators facing challenging conditions like those in the Maldives.”
