TMA WELCOMES FOUR SEASONS BRANDED AIRCRAFT

Trans Maldivian Airways is pleased to announce the latest addition to its seaplane fleet, which is also the 52nd Aircraft to its fleet. This aircraft is owned by Four Seasons and is dedicated for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts passengers. TMA will be operating and maintaining the aircraft on behalf of the luxury resort.

The Aircraft was ferried from Zimex, Switzerland and reached Velana International Airport, Maldives today (14th January 2019) at around 1130hrs. As the company welcomes the 52nd Aircraft to its fleet, it would like to thank all its partners for their invaluable contributions and everlasting support in the growth story of TMA. With this addition, TMA has further strengthened its position as the World’s Largest Seaplane Operator.

TMA INTRODUCES 4 BLADE PROPELLER ENGINES TO ITS FLEET

On Wednesday 26th June 2019 Trans Maldivian Airways introduced 4 blade propeller engines to its fleet with 8Q- MAO aircraft for the first time in the history of seaplane operations in Maldives. The test flights carried out with the new modification has proven to increase the efficiency and reliability of the propellers, improving the overall flight safety while reducing engine noise levels notably. The same modification is intended to be introduced to the entire fleet in due course and soon expected to be flying above one of the most geographically dispersed countries in the world, the breathtaking Maldives.

Without seaplanes, tourism in this island nation would not be the success it is today. TMA has played a pivotal role in developing the essential infrastructure by way of getting guests to and from their destination islands and is committed to introducing innovative improvements to better serve the still growing demand.

TMA completes Airways half century of seaplanes

On Wednesday 4th July 2018 Trans Maldivian Airways welcomed the 50th seaplane to its fleet, further strengthening its position as the World’s largest seaplane operator. The arircraft arrived at Velana International Airport, Maldives from Calgary, Canada at 1700hrs and will soon be flying one of the most scenic routes in the world across the stunning atolls, transferring passengers to and from islands all over the country.

Without seaplanes, tourism in this island nation would not be the success it is today. TMA has played a pivotal role in developing the essential infrastructure by way of getting guests to and from their destination islands and is committed to serving the still growing demand.

TMA Expands Aircraft Fleet

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has added another aircraft to its existing fleet. The additional aircraft, a De Havilland DHC-6 Series 300, arrived this afternoon (Tuesday, 21st March) at Velana International Airport (VIA) after completing its journey from Calgary city in Canada.

TMA’s fleet expansion comes in-line with the growing tourist arrivals and increasing bed capacity with the new resorts opening in the Maldives. There are plans to bring more aircraft during the course of the year to meet the demand and cater to the increasing tourist arrivals.

In 2016, TMA operated over 120,000 flights, transferring close to a million passengers including 80,000 residents.

With the latest addition to the fleet, TMA has further strengthened its position as the world’s largest seaplane operator.
