Trans Maldivian Airways ISO certifications
In January, Trans Maldivian Airways received its ISO and OHSAS certifications, issued by the British Standards Institution (BSI). The certifications were awarded during TMA’s 25th anniversary ceremony by the Managing Director of the BSI Group India, Mr. Venkataram Arabolu.
These certifications are a testimony to the initiative and commitment of TMA’s management and the company’s employees to mark their presence on the global stage.
TMA achieved International recognition by implementing these standards:
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) – Ensures customer satisfaction is achieved to the expected level. QMS ensures that there is continual improvement in processes efficiency based on facts.
ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) – Environmental management systems (EMS) increase efficiencies in the use of energy and raw materials, resulting in reduced waste and better ecosystem.
BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) – Occupational health and safety management systems signals to the clients and stakeholders that the organization is committed to protect the OHSAS needs of all the stakeholders. Increases employee motivation through the provision of a safer workplace and participation process.
PAS 99:2012 Integrated Management Registration (PAS) – PAS 99 integrated management systems allows you to streamline the way you operate, align all common standard requirements.
TMA certification scope covers entire Air Transport Services of TMA, which includes Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Continuing Airworthiness Management, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Seaplane Terminals Maintenance & Management Services, Aircraft Hangars, Outstation Water Aerodromes and all supporting functions of TMA.
Moreover, TMA has become the first and the only airline in the Maldives to achieve IMS certifications comprising Quality, Safety and Environment management systems simultaneously.
